The City of Long Beach Energy and Environmental Services Department seeks a Division Engineer to lead oilfield planning and subsidence management, coordinating data, maps, and analyses with internal teams and regulators.

Five years of oil field experience and a strong background in engineering and project leadership are required, with a license or extensive experience in related oilfield disciplines. This role is based in Long Beach, CA with public-sector responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Geology or closely related field.
• Five years of full-time oil field experience managing complex projects.
• Minimum two years directing the work of junior staff or managing projects.
• Desirable: reservoir pressure transient analysis and waterflood management.
• Desirable: enhanced oil recovery techniques and oil well drilling.
• Desirable: voidage management and strong communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Oversee oilfield planning and subsidence management.
• Coordinate reservoir data collection and elevation maps and reviews.
• Develop financial models to estimate net revenue from oil operations.
• Lead, train, and direct subordinate staff; coordinate with regulators and external stakeholders.
