Job summary

Crescent Energy in Texas is seeking an Automation & Electrical Technician to install, maintain and repair automation equipment in field production operations. You will troubleshoot SCADA, PLCs, HMIs and communications networks, ensuring reliable data flow and safe operations.

The role requires at least five years in oilfield automation, a high school diploma, and the ability to work outdoors, sometimes on-call, with occasional heavy lifting.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: Min 5 years oilfield, incl. 3 years in automation/electrical roles.
• Licensing: Licensed Electrician is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot automation equipment in field production operations.
• Communicate with operations teams on equipment status and needs.
• Monitor and diagnose SCADA issues to fix failures.
• Coordinate with automation contractors for proper installation and cost-effective solutions.
• Evaluate existing automation systems and recommend improvements.
• Troubleshoot, program, and repair PLCs, HMIs, and RTUs.
• Respond to service calls to repair communications and telemetry systems.
• Train field personnel on proper use and basic troubleshooting.
