Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking a Lease & Contracts Staff Analyst to support Land Operations and Land Administration. You will manage lease and contract records, analyze data, and ensure timely, accurate documentation across producing and non-producing properties.

The role emphasizes analyzing obligations, maintaining calendars, and coordinating with internal teams to resolve issues while upholding confidentiality and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 8+ years of land administration/lease contracts experience in lieu.
• Solid understanding of oil and gas land principles, lease obligations, and contract administration.
• Ability to interpret lease language and ownership documentation.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and enter lease and contract information into land systems to ensure data accuracy.
• Prepare full releases, assignments, Exhibit A documents, and other land-related paperwork.
• Maintain monthly lease obligation calendars and track rentals, payments, extensions, and expirations.
• Determine lease payment obligations and deadlines to maintain properties in good standing.
• Conduct lease and unit reviews for shut-in wells and process payments for approval.
• Process ownership changes from assignments, deeds, probate, and other title transactions.
• Review monthly lease obligations and advise on rentals, payments, and expirations.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve routine land administration issues; escalate complex matters.
• Process lease extensions and maintain contract compliance for non-producing properties.
• Update and maintain land records, amendments, payments, and ownership changes.
• Research public/private records to support lease administration activities.
• Respond to landowner inquiries and coordinate with internal stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Assist Land Operations with agreements, pooling documents, communitization agreements, and exhibits.
• Support special projects, audits, reporting, and process improvement in Land Administration.
• Ensure all work complies with company policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
• Stay current on industry trends and regulatory requirements through continuing education.
