Summary/Objective:
The Operations Manager will collaborate with all branch personnel to implement strategies that maximize profits, meet client requirements, and adhere to company policies and procedures. This role involves overseeing daily branch operations, coordinating personnel, enforcing safety guidelines, leading change management initiatives, and contributing to business growth. The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring process safety and compliance, supporting process hazard analysis, leading incident investigations, ensuring emergency preparedness, and assisting in work scope development.
Responsibilities:
- Dispatch personnel and equipment efficiently to jobs.
- Maintain regular communication with customers to prioritize jobs, ensure quality, resolve conflicts, and notify the branch manager of issues.
- Ensure crews leave the shop with all equipment, arrive on schedule, and reschedule crews as needed to maintain progress.
- Cultivate an inclusive, diverse, and effective team culture.
- Administer disciplinary actions fairly.
- Assist in writing job procedures in collaboration with operations.
- Manage relationships with customers and vendors effectively.
- Assist in equipment and vehicle preventative maintenance.
- Ensure all personnel adhere to OSHA safety standards and company policies; conduct safety training.
- Plan and execute safety meetings and conduct monthly safety audits.
- Distribute work hours equitably among personnel.
- Manage inventory, orders, PPE, equipment, and chemicals to ensure readiness.
- Support fieldwork and supervise shop operations during peak periods.
- Track loaned equipment and personnel.
- Perform on-call duties as per rotation schedule.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Some college education combined with work experience; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience in a similar industry.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Strong active listening, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Professional presentation and organizational skills.
- Leadership and coaching abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to wear PPE when required.
Physical Requirements:
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overnight and extended travel.
- Ability to work in industrial environments and adverse weather conditions.
- Ability to lift, move, and handle up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to walk, stand, climb, and sit for extended periods.
