Job summary

Sphere 3 Environmental is seeking an experienced Project Manager - Regulatory & Environmental Compliance to lead compliance-focused projects for a diverse client base with a focus in oil and gas. You will manage scope, schedule, and budget while ensuring all work meets federal and state environmental regulations.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical environmental knowledge with proven project management and client-facing skills, and must be able to travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in environmental compliance, regulatory affairs, or environmental project management.
• Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations (EPA, TCEQ, RRC, NMED, NMOCD, etc.).
• Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and client relationships.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with project management and GIS software a plus.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple environmental compliance projects, including permitting, audits, and regulatory reporting.
• Serve as primary client point of contact; maintain strong client relationships and manage expectations.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations (EPA, TCEQ, RRC, NMED, NMOCD, etc.).
• Oversee preparation and submission of permit applications, compliance reports, and regulatory correspondence.
• Coordinate internal staff and subcontractors to meet project deliverables.
• Manage project budgets, invoicing, and financial performance; track scope changes and contract modifications.
• Conduct or oversee site visits, compliance audits, and inspections as needed.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, including regulatory and schedule risks.
• Support business development, including proposals and client pursuit.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and quality control on deliverables.
