Job summary

RBC Capital Markets, LLC invites a Petroleum Engineering Technician to support the Credit Risk Engineering team, assisting with oil and gas evaluations for Canadian and U.S. lending partners.

You will collaborate with engineers and stakeholders across Risk Management, Corporate Banking, and Investment Banking to deliver accurate analyses. The role emphasizes data handling, spreadsheets, and data-driven lending insights, with opportunities to contribute to portfolio analyses.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access) and reserves/economics software (Aries, ValueNavigator).
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a team, manage competing priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
• Energy sector knowledge preferred but not essential if other skills are strong.
• Willingness to work overtime when required.
• Ability to create and format professional documents and presentations.
• Ability to read and interpret cash flow models.

Responsibilities

• Prepare spreadsheets for oil and gas lending evaluations.
• Extract and manage data transfer and retrieval from independent engineering reports.
• Research quarterly financial reports, data collection and database management.
• Support lending portfolio analysis projects.
