Job summary

Spencer Ogden in the United States is seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Designer to support capital and maintenance projects in the oil & gas sector. You will develop detailed electrical and instrumentation designs and collaborate with engineering and construction teams through commissioning.

The role requires 3+ years of E&I design experience, proficiency with AutoCAD and related software, and the ability to read P&IDs and wiring diagrams on industrial facilities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of E&I design experience within the oil & gas industry.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD (SmartPlant, AVEVA, or similar software is a plus).
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical and instrumentation drawings, including P&IDs, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and layout drawings.
• Support design efforts for capital and maintenance projects at industrial oil & gas facilities.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and field teams to ensure accurate and efficient project execution.
• Perform field walkdowns to verify existing conditions and support project development.
• Ensure designs comply with NEC, API, ISA, and client standards.
• Revise drawings based on project changes and provide support during construction and commissioning.
