Chapman Bros in Cranford, NJ is seeking an Oil Burner Service Technician to join our HVAC, plumbing, and electrical services team. Immediate openings offer an hourly base plus commission with strong growth potential for high performers.

You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair oil boilers and burners, perform maintenance, and service heating equipment while providing dependable service to customers. The role requires at least 2 years of oil heating experience and a valid driver’s license,

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Oil and/or Propane Service Technician.
• Hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing oil burners, boilers, and heating systems.
• HVAC service experience preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while effectively communicating with customers, dispatchers, and team members.
• Commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
• Strong attention to safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair oil boilers, burners, and heating systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance, tune-ups, and system cleanings.
• Service and maintain pumps, hoses, nozzles, and related oil heating equipment.
• Service and maintain heating oil tanks, including interior and exterior systems.
• Respond to service calls and identify and resolve safety concerns.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and service departments throughout the workday.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of service and repairs performed.
• Deliver courteous, knowledgeable, and professional service to customers.
• Follow company safety procedures and uphold high standards for quality and efficiency.
• Manage the physical demands of the position, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
