Job summary

Ruveon, the US glyphosate-focused arm of Bayer CropScience, seeks an Oil Analysis Technician for the Muscatine Plant. You will perform oil analysis, lubrication tasks and maintain safety and reliability of processing equipment.

Key duties include completing initial training, troubleshooting pumps, gearboxes and bearings, and documenting repairs while collaborating with maintenance and production to ensure safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED is required.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in mechanical trades or production.
• Proficient with SAP and basic computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Initial maintenance oil analysis training within the defined timeframe.
• Troubleshoot and repair industrial rotating equipment (pumps, agitators, gearboxes, compressors).
• Perform pump seal replacements, pump bearing replacements and equipment laser alignments.
• Maintain equipment repair/modification documentation and update files.
• Assist in root cause analysis and relay reliability resolutions to engineering.
• Collaborate with maintenance and production to complete work safely and efficiently.
• Attend training to obtain required qualifications in lubrication reliability.
• Perform housekeeping and other duties to ensure a safe workplace.

Oil Analysis Technician

Maintenance Reliability Oil Analysis Technician at the Muscatine Plant is responsible for oil analysis, filtering, lubrication and safely maintaining chemical processing equipment.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Initially complete the Maintenance Oil Analysis Training Program within the defined timeframe to ensure familiarity with the design, operation, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical systems, along with obtaining knowledge of plant piping and materials of construction standards.
• Perform troubleshooting and repairs of industrial rotating mechanical equipment, including pumps, agitators, gearboxes, and compressors.
• Perform pump seal replacements, pump bearing replacements and equipment laser alignments.
• Accurately maintain equipment repair/modification documentation and update equipment files.
• Assist in determining root cause of failure and working with engineering to develop reliability resolutions.
• Work with maintenance and production to complete work both safely and efficiently.
• Attend training to increase skill level and obtain qualifications associated with the position in the maintenance reliability lubrication field as required.
• Perform housekeeping activities and other duties as assigned to assure a safe working environment.

Required Qualifications:

• High school degree or equivalent (GED) Experience
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Mechanical trades or Production unit at the Ruveon Muscatine site or minimum 5 years of equivalent work experience in mechanical field or a mechanical trade.
• Proficient with SAP
• Basic Computer Skills (Microsoft Office; Outlook, Word, Excel)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree or Certifications in Mechanical related field.
• Understanding of industrial bearings, pump operation, along with performing preventative maintenance (PM) tasks and following all mandated procedures/regulations related to those systems.
• Knowledge or Certifications in the Vibration Analysis field.
• Knowledge or Certifications in the Oil Analysis field.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of $37.83-$43.96 per hour. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).
