Job summary

Ruveon in Muscatine, IA, USA seeks an Intermediate Mechanical Project Engineer to lead capital project execution in its Active Ingredient manufacturing and Formulations, Fill and Packaging facilities. You will provide technical direction, manage costs and ensure safe, compliant implementation.

Bachelor’s degree required; four years of engineering experience preferred. Proficiency in SAP, Prometheus, and MS Office is essential, with strong E&I troubleshooting skills and construction layout

• Strong E&I troubleshooting skills and cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience with SAP, Prometheus, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of construction/shutdown layouts and project scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering project management to capital projects, from initiation through completion.
• Responsible for moderate project complexity and moderate project load.
• Develop accurate project cost estimates, identify cost-savings, and provide updates to management.
• Lead project reviews and ensure thorough action item follow-up.
• Develop clear and concise appropriation requests, communicate and justify background.
• Select appropriate vendors, soliciting bids with Purchasing.
• Assist Construction Field Coordinators with project implementation; review safety and activities on site.
• Accurately document project files and closure information in a timely manner.
• Ensure systems and equipment are designed/installed per Bayer and regulatory standards with lifecycle cost in mind.
• Provide input and engineering support to site personnel for safety and standards compliance.

Mechanical Project Engineer, Intermediate

Provides daily tactical direction, applies technical skills, and resolves routine issues throughout the project execution process. Ensures the safe, efficient, productive, and cost-efficient project design and implementation of capital projects throughout the Active Ingredient manufacturing and Formulations, Fill and Packaging facilities. This position provides technical knowledge and is accountable for planning, coordination, and execution of technical activities needed to support capital execution in manufacturing operations.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide engineering project management to capital projects, from project initiation through completion.
• Responsible for moderate project complexity and moderate project load.
• Develop accurate project cost estimates, identify cost-savings, and provide updates to management.
• Lead project reviews and assure thorough action item follow-up.
• Develop clear and concise appropriation requests, communicate and present background and justification.
• Select appropriate vendors, soliciting bids with Purchasing.
• Assist Construction Field Coordinators with project implementation requirements; visit job sites to review work activities, safety, and construction.
• Accurately document project files and closure information in a timely manner.
• Ensure systems and equipment are designed and installed in accordance with Bayer and regulatory standards with life cycle cost considered.
• Provide input and engineering assistance to site personnel to facilitate application of plant and corporate standards, safety procedures, and other regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Four years of progressive engineering experience.
• Strong E&I trouble shooting skills. Proficient in SAP, Prometheus, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with layout of construction or shutdown activities as related to project scheduling.

Posting will be available until September 30, 2026

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $73,120.00 - $109,680.00 per year. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Other benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. If selected for this role, the offer may vary based on market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
