Job summary

SP+ is seeking a friendly valet/attendant for our Portland operation. Join a nationwide parking network and help deliver a seamless experience for clients and guests.

Responsibilities include directing customers, counting vehicles, issuing warnings, and assisting with maintenance and safety. Must have a valid driver's license, be able to drive a manual, and be available for shifts including weekends. Salary is $18/hour with tips possible.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience required.
• Ability to safely drive a vehicle with a manual transmission is a plus.
• Proof of eligibility to work legally in the U.S. is required.
• The ability to read, write, add, and subtract US currency and comprehend simple instructions.
• Availability to work special shifts if needed (2nd, 3rd shift and/or weekends).

• Write and issue violation warnings to tenants and visitors that violate garage policies.

Responsibilities

Our OHSU client is seeking a new valet/attendant for our Portland operation.

Shift is Monday-Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Pay Rate: $18.00 / hour

• Successful candidate will be an energetic, responsible and dependable self-starter
• Previous customer service experience required
• Previous parking experience desired
• Ability to drive manual transmission required for most positions
• Clean driving record to pass MVR check necessary

What you’ll do

• Deliver on Our Promise by ensuring every moment matters for our clients by providing assistance when needed and communicating proactively.
• Direct incoming customers to available parking spaces for a seamless parking experience.
• Count vehicles on location throughout shift, as needed.
• Write and issue violation warnings to tenants and visitors that violate garage policies; patrol transient and reserved parking levels as needed.
• Provide assistance to customers that have forgotten where they parked their vehicle.
• Responsible for being at work every scheduled day, on time and in uniform.
• Control traffic at entrances and exits as needed.
• Assist in the maintenance and repair of parking equipment and any general maintenance tasks as directed by the Facility Manager.
• Report any known accidents, observed or suspected violations of Company policy, safety hazards or any unusual occurrence to the Facility Manager.
• Communicate debris, water, oil spills and etc. to garage office.
• Substitute for Valets when necessary, if authorized.
• Have a thorough knowledge of all areas of the garage, thorough knowledge of the major streets, landmarks and freeways in the area of the garage to assist customers in a seamless transportation experience.
• Assist Facility Manager with other duties as needed.

Qualifications

What you need

• A valid state driver’s license, current address, and acceptable driving record.
• The ability to safely drive a vehicle with a manual transmission (stick shift) is a plus.
• Availability to work special shifts if needed (2nd, 3rd shift and/or weekends).
• Proof of eligibility to work legally in the U.S. (must provide valid documentation if hired).The ability to provide accurate information to customers and co-workers and respond professionally to customer problems or complaints.
• The ability to read, write, add, and subtract US currency and comprehend instructions, short emails, and memos.
• The ability to follow written and verbal instructions and calmly adapt to changes, delays, and unexpected events while working.

Salary Range: $18.00 per hour

This role is eligible to earn tips in addition to the posted hourly rate.
