Job summary

NARA NW is hiring an Oregon Health Plan (OHP) Outreach Specialist in Portland. This in-person role guides eligible individuals through enrollment, renewals, and ongoing navigation of OHP, Healthy Kids, and Federal Marketplace options, with emphasis on Native American communities and homeless populations.

You will travel regularly across the Portland metro area to attend events, health fairs, and partner activities, representing NARA NW and providing culturally appropriate outreach and education

Qualifications

• Experience helping clients enroll in OHP, Healthy Kids, and Federal Marketplace programs.
• Familiarity with Native American communities and culturally sensitive outreach is a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, community-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Screen and assess eligibility for OHP, Healthy Kids, and Federal Marketplace programs.
• Assist clients in completing enrollment, renewal, and recertification applications.
• Educate clients regarding available options and help them select appropriate plans.
• Verify and track OHP eligibility, enrollment status, and renewal dates.
• Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions, application status, and case activity.
• Represent NARA NW at community events, health fairs, and outreach activities.
• Conduct outreach to identify and assist individuals who may qualify for health coverage.
• Collaborate with team members across multiple NARA NW locations to ensure continuity of services.
• Participate in team meetings, trainings, and program planning activities.
• Promote positive relationships with community members, partner organizations, and internal departments.
