Job Summary

The OHE Lineman A supports Journeyman Linemen and the Foreman during training. Responsible for constructing and maintaining poles, power lines, and related equipment for electricity distribution, while promoting safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities

1. Construct, maintain, and inspect electrical power lines.
2. Assist in connecting, disconnecting, installing, and removing electrical devices on customer facilities.
3. Route power lines over, under, or around existing structures.
4. Inspect and remove damaged power lines.
5. Assist in pole setting, digging, and other construction activities.
6. Perform line switching or sectionalizing as directed.
7. Support training of apprentices and crew members.
8. Submit required documentation timely.
9. Troubleshoot electrical issues on customer equipment.
10. Drive bucket trucks and maintain truck stock.
11. Respond to consumer complaints and repair electrical lines as needed.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of lineman experience.
• Valid Class A CDL.

Preferred

• 5+ years of experience.
• OSHA 10 Certification.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This role requires working outdoors in various weather conditions, with physical activities like bending, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and operating in challenging environments. Good vision, hand-eye coordination, and color recognition are essential.
