Job summary

Primoris Services Corporation is seeking an OH AP 4 - Overhead Apprentice to assist with construction, maintenance, and repair of overhead electrical distribution and transmission lines. You will learn under direct supervision, gaining hands-on experience in safe outdoor environments and contributing to reliable power delivery.

You will support journey-level linemen, operate hand and power tools, climb poles with safety gear, read simple schematics, and participate in daily safety briefings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Lineman Apprentice program (Level 3 or equivalent experience) is strongly preferred.
• Valid Class A CDL with air brake endorsement is required.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist journey-level linemen and higher-level apprentices in overhead line construction, maintenance, and repair.
• Operate and maintain hand and power tools, equipment, and vehicles safely.
• Learn and adhere to safety regulations, lockout/tagout, and arc flash protection.
• Perform climbing activities on utility poles with approved safety equipment.
• Read and interpret basic schematics, blueprints, and work orders.

**Job Overview:**Job Summary The OH AP 4 (Overhead Apprentice, Level 4) will assist in the construction, maintenance, and repair of overhead electrical distribution and transmission lines. This role involves working under direct supervision to learn and apply essential skills in a challenging outdoor environment, contributing to the safe and reliable delivery of power. Job Responsibilities \\* Assist journey-level linemen and higher-level apprentices in all aspects of overhead line construction, maintenance, and repair, including installing poles, stringing wire, framing poles, and connecting transformers. \\* Operate and maintain various hand and power tools, equipment, and vehicles safely and efficiently, including bucket trucks, digger derricks, and wire pullers. \\* Learn and adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and procedures, including proper grounding techniques, lockout/tagout, and arc flash protection. \\* Perform climbing activities on utility poles and structures using approved safety equipment and techniques. \\* Handle and manage materials, including loading and unloading trucks, organizing equipment, and maintaining a clean work area. \\* Read and interpret basic schematics, blueprints, and work orders to understand project requirements. \\* Participate in daily job briefings and safety meetings, contributing to a culture of safety. \\* Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other personnel. \\* Work in various weather conditions and be available for emergency call-out and overtime as needed.
