Job summary

Onterris is seeking an OGI Field Technician to perform hydrocarbon fugitive emission and leak detection at facilities in the Oil and Gas Industry, using advanced technologies to measure methane emissions in the field.

The role requires 12-hour shifts, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel; a technical degree is preferred, with pre-employment drug screening and background checks. The position is based in the Pittsburgh area and offers competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Experience in Oil and Gas industry; proficiency with Excel and MS Office; Android OS experience; valid driver’s license; ability to travel; pass pre-employment drug screen and background check; willingness to work 12-hour shifts.
• Preference given to associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering technology or technical field; related LDAR or instrumentation experience is a plus.

• Coordinate and navigate to multiple facilities using maps and GPS.
• Calibrate and maintain field equipment.
• Operate detection and measurement technologies under supervision.
• Collect and record emission data.
• Prepare field reports as required.

A Day in the Life

As an OGI Field Technician, you'll be responsible for performing hydrocarbon fugitive emission and/or leak detection of facilities in the Oil and Gas Industry in field. As well as work with industry leading technologies used to detect and measure methane gas emissions.

The compensation range for this role is $50-60k/yr. Commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in coordinating and navigating to various facilities with maps and GPS
• Helping to calibrate and maintain equipment
• Using various detection and measurement technologies under the supervision of the Team Lead
• Collecting and recording emission data
• Preparing field reports as required

Requirements

• Experience in Oil and Gas industry (preference given to candidates with natural gas processing/transmission facility experience)
• Effective computer skills (Excel and Microsoft Office are essential) and proficiency with Android OS
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts (days only)
• Valid driver’s license
• Preference will be given to candidates with an associate or bachelor's degree in engineering technology or applicable technical degree/diploma; related work experience in hydrocarbon detection and measurement, LDAR, instrumentation or stack emission testing or a mechanical background are also preferred, but not required
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
• Willingness to travel

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk and/or stand while handling/carrying various technical equipment for extended periods of time
• Comfortable occasionally working at heights in a safe manner
• Ability to lift 50lbs unassisted
• Comfortable working outside in all-weather elements
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
