Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a sharp, entrepreneurial Offtake Strategy Lead to drive Vision RNG’s marketing, monetization, and market expansion strategy for RNG. This is a front-footed, high-impact role ideal for someone who can move seamlessly from financial modeling to external relationship-building—and from structuring offtake contracts to identifying untapped revenue channels.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years post-undergrad experience, with a background in energy marketing, trading, investment banking, or management consulting, and a strong desire to build in a dynamic, evolving business environment. This is a cross-functional role working closely with finance, operations, legal, and executive leadership to define and scale Vision RNG’s commercial future.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Portfolio Commercialization & Monetization
  2. Develop and execute the commercialization strategy for RNG output across Vision RNG’s project portfolio.
  3. Maximize value across environmental attributes (e.g., RINs, LCFS, production tax credits), voluntary markets, and brown gas alternatives.
  4. Structure, negotiate, and close offtake agreements—both spot and long-term—across a diverse set of counterparties.
  5. Market Development & Expansion
  6. Identify and activate new demand pathways—including utilities, data centers, ESG-focused corporates, and international buyers (e.g., Europe, Canada, Japan).
  7. Quantify addressable market size, assess pricing benchmarks, and recommend go-to-market sequencing.
  8. Lead commercial diligence into emerging segments such as CO2 sales and carbon credit monetization.
  9. Relationship Management & Counterparty Engagement
  10. Cultivate and manage relationships with brokers, traders, intermediaries, and end users of RNG, including CNG dispensers and fleet owners.
  11. Lead commercial discussions with buyers, energy procurement leads, utilities, and ESG investment desks.
  12. Represent Vision RNG in bilateral negotiations and industry conversations with speed, credibility, and professionalism.
  13. Strategy, Analytics & Commercial Intelligence
  14. Build and manage models to support pricing scenarios, margin tracking, CI optimization, and contract profitability.
  15. Lead quarterly portfolio and market reviews with internal stakeholders and the executive team.
  16. Cross-Functional Execution & Internal Leadership
  17. Serve as the commercial lead across internal workflows (finance, legal, ops) to bring transactions to close.
  18. Partner with development teams to align offtake strategies with project-specific economics and credit generation.
  19. Create internal alignment on pricing thresholds, term preferences, and strategic tradeoffs.
  20. Own internal reporting and executive updates on commercial activities and performance.

Requirements

Commercial Acumen & Deal Execution

Demonstrated experience structuring and closing complex offtake or monetization deals; fluency in pricing mechanics, credit valuation, and negotiation dynamics.

Builder Mentality & Growth Orientation

Thrives in fast-paced, unstructured settings. Comfortable with ambiguity and excited to create structure where none exists. Has a proactive mindset and a bias toward action.

Market Expansion & Development

Ability to identify whitespace in the market, quantify opportunity size, and build new commercial channels from the ground up. Strategic and entrepreneurial in approach to customer and market development.

Quantitative Rigor & Strategic Translation

Strong modeling skills and data fluency—able to forecast, synthesize, and distill complex data into compelling commercial strategies and actionable decisions. Ability to take the math and turn it into a vision.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Influence

Capable of leading across functions—finance, legal, operations—to deliver outcomes. Strong communicator and natural collaborator who brings others along and gets deals done.
