Job summary

Gulf Island is seeking an Offshore Scaffold Superintendent based in Houma, LA to lead scaffold project activities, coordinate scheduling, yard operations, cost control and communications to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

Key duties include reviewing contracts, directing activities with operations, aiding in work-pack development, coordinating material delivery with the Project Manager, and enforcing safety standards across crews.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or equivalent is required.
• 5+ years of experience as a Scaffold Superintendent.
• Ability to pull measurements and read/make ISO drawings.
• Valid TWIC card.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.
• Must pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Review project contracts and ensure knowledge of specs, material requirements and completion dates.
• Coordinate and direct project activities to ensure open communications and avoid delays, cost overruns, and errors.
• Assist the client in developing work packs and associated budgets and sequence of execution.
• Communicate with the Project Manager regarding scheduling of material delivery, specs, origins and costs to ensure coordination with contract requirements.
• Review and approve work schedules, material requisitions and progress reports.
• Work closely with project managers for production planning, schedules, budgets and progress.
• Assist offshore management in developing and maintaining schedules offshore.
• Ensure proper completion of Job Safety Analysis (JSAs) and safety protocol compliance.
• Lead in safety and company policy compliance among foremen and craft personnel.
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.

About this position

Description:

Main Purpose:

The Scaffold Superintendent performs and coordinates all scaffold project activities including but not limited to the direction of project scheduling, yard operations, cost control and communication with customers, inspectors and internal teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Essential Functions:

• Review project contracts and ensure an in-depth working knowledge of job specifications, material requirements, completion dates etc.
• Coordinate and direct project activities with appropriate operational personnel to ensure an open flow of communications avoiding delays, cost overruns, fabrications errors etc.
• Assist the client in developing work packs and associated budgets and sequence of execution
• Communicate with the Project Manager regarding the scheduling of material delivery, material specifications, origins, the cost to ensure coordination of operational functions and timely receipt of materials in that both will comply with contract specifications and schedules
• Review and approve work schedules for assigned projects, material requisitions, percentage completed schedules / reports and request from operations regarding specification requirements
• Work closely with project managers for production planning, schedule, budgets and progress
• Assist offshore management in developing schedules and maintaining schedules once offshore
• Ensure proper completion of Job Safety Analysis (JSAs) and compliance with safety protocols
• Lead in safety and company policy compliance while fostering communication, planning and accountability among foremen, leaders and craft personnel
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisor

Requirements:

Physical Requirements:

Job Requirements:

• Highschool diploma or equivalent

Tools, Equipment and Technology:

• Computer and office equipment, offshore equipment, scaffolding equipment

Environmental Conditions:

80 to 90% of the work activities are performed outdoors. Individuals will be required to work in changes of temperature, hot, cold, humid, wet and dry conditions, dust, mud etc. They will also be exposed to paint thinner and paint fumes.
