Job summary

Gulf Island in Houma, LA is seeking an Offshore Superintendent to lead and coordinate project management on offshore facilities, liaising with customers and inspectors, directing scheduling, yard operations, and project cost control to meet deadlines and profitability.

The role requires 5+ years offshore supervision, combo welding or fitting, OSHA/BSEE familiarity, strong communication, and the ability to work outdoors in varied conditions. A TWIC card and pre-employment checks are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years background in Combo Welding or Combo Fitting.
• 5+ years direct Offshore supervision experience, 2 years being recent.
• General understanding of OSHA / BSEE regulations for the construction / offshore industry.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen; TWIC card required.

Main Purpose: The Offshore Superintendent performs and coordinates all assigned project management functions, including but not limited to liaison between company and customer(s) on-site inspectors, the direction of project scheduling and yard operations, communication on project status with management, project cost with corporate accounting and completion of assigned projects within allotted periods and profit projections.

Main Purpose: The Offshore Superintendent performs and coordinates all assigned project management functions, including but not limited to liaison between company and customer(s) on-site inspectors, the direction of project scheduling and yard operations, communication on project status with management, project cost with corporate accounting and completion of assigned projects within allotted periods and profit projections.

Essential Functions

• Review project contracts and ensure an in-depth working knowledge of job specifications, material requirements, completion dates etc.
• Coordinate and direct project activities with appropriate operational personnel to ensure an open flow of communications avoiding delays, cost overruns, fabrications errors etc.
• Maintain positive liaison with customers, on-site customer inspectors and management to ensure an open line of communication regarding customer concerns, complaints, change orders and follow up accordingly with all applicable company management supervisors
• Assist the client in developing work packs, associated budgets, and execution sequences
• Communicate with the Project Manager regarding the scheduling of material delivery, material specifications, origins and the cost to ensure coordination of operational functions and timely receipt of materials in that both will comply with contract specifications and schedules
• Review and approve work schedules for assigned projects, material requisitions, percent completed schedules / reports and requests from operations regarding specification requirements
• Work closely with project managers for production planning, schedule, budgets and progress
• Assist offshore management in developing schedules and maintaining schedules once offshore
• Lead large quantities of personnel and third-party contractors as one team
• Set tracking criteria for key personnel to follow and develop a tracking form needed for such tracking
• Maintain positive customer relations, facilitating two-way communications between management and the customer
• Ensure that material and equipment needs are properly planned and staged in advance of the work to assure an efficient workflow
• Review schedule, budgets and work order reports to provide feedback on project progress
• Lead in safety and knowledge of all company policies and procedures
• Fosters communication, planning and personal accountability to foreman, leaders and craft personnel
• Accountable for assuring proper completion of ob Safety Analyses (JSAs) and compliance with safety protocols
• Pull measurements and draw / make drawings on International Organization for Standardization (ISO) paper
• Perform other duties as required by supervisor

Job Requirements

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Desirable Experience, Education, And Training

80% to 90% of the work activities are performed outdoors. Individuals will be required to work in changes of temperature, hot, cold, humid, wet, and dry conditions, dust, mud, etc. They may also be exposed to fumes (Paint, paint thinners, diesel or gas, etc.)
