Job summary

Oceaneering is seeking a project engineer to manage mechanical, electrical, and ocean engineering aspects of offshore umbilical design and manufacturing. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, prepare technical deliverables, and drive projects from concept to final reports at the Panama City facility.

The role requires strong written and verbal communication, hands-on engineering analysis, and the ability to work with minimal guidance while supporting 24/7 operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Marine, or Ocean Engineering.
  • 2–5 years of engineering experience, preferred in the oil and gas industry.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, reports, and specifications.
  • Ability to write technical documents and present information to managers, clients, and vendors.
  • Experience in Mathcad or other engineering calculation programs.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks.
  • U.S. government TWIC badge required for Panama City Port access.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with integrated teams to develop solutions at Oceaneering’s Panama City facility.
  • Lead project executions to deliver procurement specs, production docs, and final reports.
  • Coordinate engineering procedures, design reviews, and data archiving.
  • Manage projects to meet timelines and client expectations.
  • Support 24/7 operations and assist manufacturing/testing as needed.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders across sites.
