Job description

We are currently seeking an Offshore Network Specialist to join our team.

Responsibilities:

1. Maintain, support, and troubleshoot network infrastructure including firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless networks.
2. Perform network diagnostics using various troubleshooting tools, including Embedded tools and Wireshark packet captures.
3. Analyze zone-based firewall policies.
4. Work closely with the compliance officer on cyber security initiatives.
5. Collaborate with Vestas global counterparts on technological initiatives.
6. Coordinate with customers and Vestas global IT support to build VPN connectivity.
7. Work with vendors to evaluate new technologies and resolve significant incidents with existing systems.
8. Supervise projects involving new hardware and software implementation.
9. Perform additional tasks or projects as required.

Essential Functions:

1. Set up site SCADA system networks.
2. Coordinate change requests.
3. Assess technical drawings for accuracy and viability.
4. Generate and maintain technical documentation.
5. Identify commercial opportunities within customer requests.
6. Troubleshoot WAN, LAN, VPN, VLAN, DMZ connectivity issues.

Qualifications:

1. CCNP or higher certification required.
2. 5+ years in a support role focusing on network technologies (routers, switches, firewalls).
3. In-depth experience with firewall configuration.
4. Professional knowledge of Cisco & Hirschmann network hardware and LAN/WAN/VLAN connectivity.
5. Experience in the wind or energy sector is preferred.
6. Experience with standardization and documentation.
7. Proficiency with documentation and diagramming tools.
8. Cyber security experience.
9. Experience with Microsoft Server in a virtualized environment is beneficial.
