Job summary

Ashtead Technology in Houma, LA is seeking a skilled Mechanical / Hydraulic Technician to service, inspect, and repair subsea equipment for hire. This hands-on role requires strong mechanical/hydraulic knowledge, meticulous work, and commitment to safety.

You will diagnose faults, perform preventative maintenance, document work orders, and travel offshore as needed to support client operations. Offshore experience and ability to read manuals are preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires mechanical/hydraulic qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience with diesel mechanics.
• Experience in repair/maintenance/testing of mechanical equipment, preferably subsea.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals and work orders.
• Offshore experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, inspect, and test equipment for hire, ensuring full functionality and proper documentation.
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs, rebuilds, and maintenance on hydraulic/pneumatic tools.
• Safely store, pack, and secure equipment per procedures and transport needs.
• Operate vehicles/equipment for diagnostics, delivery, and collection.
• Off-hire, inspect, and test returned equipment; report damages.
• Complete work orders in ERP and create parts lists.
• Deliver parts/equipment to customers and provide on-call technical support.
• Travel offshore or dockside to support client operations as needed.
