Job summary

Ashtead Technology in Houston is seeking a Mechanical Technician to keep our subsea equipment running safely and reliably for rental. You will diagnose, rebuild, and test equipment, supporting offshore operations and ensuring readiness.

You’ll work from manuals and work orders, with offshore travel on occasion, and join a global team with decades of subsea experience.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Mechanical/Hydraulics or equivalent technical discipline.
• Experience in repair, maintenance and testing of mechanical equipment, preferably subsea.
• Ability to read manuals and work orders to perform maintenance.
• Strong verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills.
• Offshore experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, inspect, and test equipment for hire to ensure full functionality and compliance.
• Troubleshoot faults and perform repairs and preventive maintenance to manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose, rebuild, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
• Record work orders and maintenance in the ERP system and document damages.
• Package, secure, and store equipment for transport.
• Operate vehicles and equipment for diagnostics, delivery, and support.
• Provide on-call offshore or dockside support on a rotational basis.

As a Mechanical Technician with Ashtead Technology in Houston, you’ll be at the heart of our operations - keeping our equipment running safely, reliably, and ready for rental. You’ll tackle everything from diagnostics and rebuilds to offshore support, making a real impact every single day.

What you'll be doing:

• Preparing, inspecting, and testing equipment for hire to ensure it’s fully functional, compliant, and professionally presented.
• Troubleshooting faults and carrying out repairs and preventative maintenance to manufacturer standards.
• Diagnosing, rebuilding, and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
• Off-hiring and testing equipment returned from hire, identifying and documenting any damage or missing items and completingwork orders and maintenance records accurately in the ERP system.
  
• Packaging, securing, and storing equipment safely for transport and deployment.
• Operating vehicles and equipment for diagnostic, delivery, and support purposes.
• Providing on-call support on a rotational basis and travelling offshore or dockside to support client requirements when needed.

What experience you'll bring:

• Qualification in Mechanical/Hydraulics or other similar technical discipline and/or equivalent
  industry experience.
• Track record of experience in a Mechanical role undertaking repair, maintenance and testing of
  mechanical equipment, preferably in a subsea environment.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform maintenance/service.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong problem solving capabilities.
• Some offshore experience is beneficial.
