Job summary

Bristow Group is seeking qualified VFR helicopter pilots to support offshore oil and gas operations. This Captain position follows a 5 on, 2 off schedule (Mon–Fri) based in Houma, Louisiana.

Responsibilities include safe operation, rigorous flight planning, and maintaining logs; candidates must meet FAA 135.243 standards, hold a 1st class medical, and have 1500 hours PIC in helicopters.

Qualifications

• Must hold a 1st class medical certificate.
• FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Helicopter Instrument rating.
• Minimum 1500 helicopter PIC hours.
• At least 100 helicopter hours in the last 12 months.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Organized with the ability to handle a large workload.
• Strong interpersonal skills for team work.

Responsibilities

• Operate designated helicopter safely under 14 CFR 135.243 and Bristow standards.
• Prioritize safety and customer service in all operations.
• Monitor weather, NOTAMs, sea state, and offshore facility status.
• Manage passenger and aircraft movements, briefings, and baggage loading.
• Complete flight planning, preflight, fueling, and manifest oversight.
• Maintain flight and duty logs and aircraft records.
• Report mechanical irregularities and ensure airworthiness.
• Coordinate with customers and represent Bristow professionally.
