Job description

Summary:

The Offset Utility Operator position involves operating and assisting in the operation of various equipment in the offset printing department. Responsibilities include daily forklift operation, data entry into computer systems, and maintaining attention to detail.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Operate Jogger and Guillotine machines, verifying measurements within 1/32” using tape measures; operate Guillotine's computer system for programming cuts.
2. Manage load placement on pallets, aligning loads, and handling pallets during loading and unloading processes.
3. Unitize loads according to inventory or shipping specifications using panel saws, strapping banders, and drills for strap hole drilling, ensuring consistency with press production.
4. Input finished goods data into the AS400 inventory system, update locations, and manage job issuance and returns.
5. Operate forklift and electric pallet jack to stage loads for shipping and inventory management.
6. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on Jogger and Guillotine machines.
7. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, following all safety and operational procedures.
8. Ensure safety and cleanliness of equipment and work environment.
9. Work overtime as required and perform additional duties as assigned.

Additional Duties for Sheeter Roll Stand:

1. Order roll stock based on schedule, coordinate with clamp truck drivers.
2. Cut steel bands and waste wraps from rolls, unwrap and measure rolls, load into the machine, and set proper parameters.
3. Unload and stage rolls, operate the machine during breaks or absences, and conduct quality checks.
4. Assist with preventative maintenance of the Sheeter.

Additional Duties for Press Helper:

1. Prepare plates, ink, and paper for upcoming jobs.
2. Follow job instructions for ink setup, blanket mounting/removal, and operate press controls.
3. Perform quality checks, assist with preventative maintenance, and support press operations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This role has no supervisory responsibilities.
