Job summary

RRD is seeking a Press Assistant at our Ohio facility to support press operations, verify specs, and prepare for runs. You will inspect fountain solution and ink systems, manage paper inventory, and assist with make-readies and maintenance in a team-based environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a printing environment is preferred.
• Experience with hand tools is preferred.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the press for a run by verifying job specs and setup.
• Inspects fountain solution, inking systems, rolls of paper and reels.
• Maintains inventory of paper; records usage and spoilage.
• Unwraps, mounts, and splices paper rolls.
• Monitors paper flow; installs new rolls as needed.
• Works with press operators and other assistants on maintenance.
• Assists maintenance in troubleshooting and repairs.
• May assist with make-readies.
• May adjust ink, solvent, and varnish to establish color.
• Follows safety policies including hazardous waste handling.
• Performs related duties and participates in special projects.
• Follow ISO Quality Manual requirements.
