Job summary

Quad is seeking an Offset Plate Maker to oversee the plate-making process from start to finish, generating digital impositions and producing press-ready plates while ensuring quality standards. You will collaborate with internal and external customers to keep the printing process smooth and efficient.

No prior experience is required; training will be provided. The role involves operating and maintaining platemaking equipment, loading materials, and supporting production schedules to meet

Qualifications

• Familiarity with computer systems in the Plate room (Mac/Windows) and imaging job control.
• Basic mechanical skills.
• Ability to work schedules to meet production needs; overtime as required.
• Knowledge of press layout configurations (Saddle Stitch, Perfect Binding, Gatefolds, half and ¾ webs).

Responsibilities

• Create digital plate surfaces with precision.
• Maintain platemaking equipment and perform basic upkeep.
• Load/unload platemaking materials for plate production.
• Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to keep production on track.
• Inspect plates to ensure quality standards.
• Track job components through production using Smart tools.
