Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Security Officer is to provide for the safety and protection of guests, Team Members, and Company property. The Security Officer is also responsible for anticipating potential problems and seeking ways to prevent disruption, injuries, and prohibited conduct from occurring on Company premises. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. This is a safety-related position.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Patrols, monitors, and/or inspects assigned areas for undesirable or suspicious persons, and trespasses undesirables and troublemakers as directed.
• Investigates incidents, accidents, and events, including reporting and interviewing witnesses.
• Maintains visibility among guests and Team Members to create a sense of security and answer questions.
• Responds to emergencies and takes appropriate actions to minimize liability.
• Executes emergency response and evacuation procedures as directed.
• Enforces property policies, regulations, and laws.
• Oversees transportation and exchange of money transactions.
• Provides high-level guest service to hotel and casino guests and Team Members.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

• Protects individuals, property, and designated areas.
• Performs crowd control, surveillance, and investigations.
• Protects dignitaries, celebrities, and persons of interest as assigned.
• Evaluates threats and implements appropriate actions.
• Exercises discretion and judgment based on available information.
• Directs others for protection and safety.
• Adheres to safety standards and maintains regular attendance.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 21 years of age.
• Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the U.S.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid Nevada Driver’s License, Nevada Gaming Control Board Registration, Alcohol Awareness Card, and other required certifications.
• Experience in law enforcement, security, or related field preferred.
• Ability to investigate incidents and draft reports.
• Knowledge of first aid preferred.
• Familiarity with laws pertaining to law enforcement and gaming.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift or carry 46 lbs., push/pull 100 lbs., administer CPR, access all areas, and work in various environmental conditions. Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods and work indoors/outdoors.
