A leading security solutions firm in Chicago seeks an Unarmed Security Officer to ensure safety at critical facilities. Responsibilities include monitoring life safety equipment, responding to alarms, and providing courteous service to clients. Ideal candidates must have a current guard card and pass various checks. Responsibilities

  • Document all physical security breaches/incidents.
  • Monitor life safety equipment and note any deficiencies.
  • Respond to alarm conditions and suspicious activities.
  • Meet and greet tenants, sign-in visitors and contractors.
  • Respond effectively to calls for assistance.
  • Be sensitive to the client’s culture and protect the client brand image.
  • Treat clients’ employees and guests with courtesy and respect.

As an Unarmed Security Officer you will be part of a highly trained security team that supports critical facilities and infrastructure, public venues that require an enhanced presence and personal protective services. You will be trained by our team of highly qualified firearms instructors in safe weapons handling and marksmanship. You are an integral part of the broad spectrum of specialized security services Inter‑Con provides its clients every day.

Expected Responsibilities
  • Document all physical security breaches/incidents and actions taken in response.
  • Monitor life safety equipment and note any deficiencies in writing to Security Management (automated external defibrillators, crash doors, fire extinguishers, first aid kits, duress alarms, etc.).
  • Respond to all alarm conditions and any other indication of suspicious activities.
  • Meet and greet all tenants, sign‑in visitors and contractors.
  • Respond effectively to all calls for assistance.
  • Be sensitive to the client’s culture and strive to maintain a positive client brand image.
  • Treat the client’s employees, invitees, and guests with the utmost courtesy and respect.
Qualifications
  • A current guard card license as required by state or local law.
  • Must pass a 12‑panel drug test prior to placement.
  • Must pass a criminal history check (based on fingerprints where permitted by law), independent of state professional certification requirements.
  • Must undergo employment verification check back to age 18.
  • Must undergo motor vehicle record checks.
  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • May be required to perform emergency duties that require physical exertion (standing or walking entire shift, climbing stairs, lifting or carrying objects up to 75 lbs., running).
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent; possession of a college degree is highly desirable.
  • Speak, read, and write English.
  • All assigned personnel should be of high integrity and possess exemplary security skills and judgment.
  • Assigned personnel should possess above‑average computer skills and must hold all necessary licenses, permits and certifications required by the states or countries of assignment to perform security officer duties.
