Job summary

The California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) seeks a Regional Records Coordinator for the Cypress Regional Office in Orange County. This permanent, full-time Office Technician (General) role focuses on maintaining and organizing confidential records, preparing new folders, and ensuring secure filing in line with policy.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the integrity of large volumes of complex, confidential, and sensitive records by ensuring documents are filed in appropriate folders and locations as items are submitted to the Cypress Regional Central File Room
  • Prepare new folders to establish new facility/site files or extension folders in accordance with the Regional Uniform File Policy procedures
  • Ensure security of confidential records by filing appropriate documentation in a secure location
  • Cross-reference site records when appropriate by utilizing the DTSC 1288 form for site files that have more than one name or oversized reports/documents
  • Independently research information involving all facilities/sites including documents, records, files, binders, maps, etc., to respond to Public Records Act Requests (PRAR) that are received in accordance with provisions of the Public Records Act, Public Records Act Requests Policy & Procedures and other departmental procedures
  • Notify program staff within 24 hours of receipt of requests for file reviews, including files referenced and any confidential documents

Under close supervision of a Supervisor I, the Office Technician (General) will learn all facets of activities related to Cypress Regional Office operations.

As an Office Technician (General) you will have the opportunity to:
