This central role keeps daily operations running smoothly and ensures staff, leadership, and visitors have what they need to succeed. The position requires maturity, discretion, and strong communication skills, along with independent judgment, initiative, and the ability to manage priorities and resolve challenges.Typical duties will include but are not limited to:Serving as a reliable point of contact, responsible for answering questions, solving problems, and connecting people with resources.Managing administrative tasks such as correspondence, meeting agendas/minutes, reports, requests of information, scheduling, and office management.Using a P-card to make and track Bureau purchases, processing invoices, and supporting Finance functions.Providing backup administrative support to the Commissioner's Office.Supporting other administrative processes across DMR as assigned.For questions specific to the position, please contact Charlene Beringer at: Charlene.L.Beringer@maine.govMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Training, education, or experience in office and administrative support work that demonstrates 1) competency in applying a proficient knowledge of modern office practices to perform advanced administrative support tasks requiring specialized skills, and 2) the ability to use independent judgment, initiative, and discretion to make determinations on varied matters.
