Job description

Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lylis is a leading global communications agency built to navigate the complexities of a hyper-connected world. We represent the icons and innovators shaping culture—from global heritage corporations and high-growth tech startups to the non-profits, creative legends, and visionary founders who define the global discourse.

Our expertise spans the full cultural spectrum. We operate at the intersection of entertainment, social impact, corporate reputation, and consumer lifestyle, executing seamlessly across traditional media, social-first outlets, brand partnerships, and influencer ecosystems. Whether we are navigating complex crisis management, elevating advocacy campaigns, or launching global consumer brands, we are storytellers at our core.

You may notice our digital presence is purposefully understated. While our clients are global household names, we believe the best work happens when the spotlight stays firmly on those we represent. We fly under the radar by design - preferring to let our campaigns, and our results, speak for themselves.

If you’re driven, intentional, and ready to do good, we’re ready for you!

Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lylis has an immediate opening for a high-energy, detail-oriented Office & PR Assistant to join our Washington, DC team. This role is the essential foundation of both our client work and our daily office operations. We are looking for someone with a strong interest in the modern communications landscape and a genuine desire to DO—whether that involves social good, tech, policy, or major events.

Assistants at our firm are given the tools to grow into world-class communicators. From Day 1, we expect you to exhibit the emotional maturity, professional poise, and entrepreneurial spirit that define our most successful team members. As the first point of contact for guests, clients, and visitors in the capital, you will serve as a primary ambassador for the agency’s culture and standards.

The Role
  • Integrated PR Learning: Exhibit a relentless interest in soaking up the ins and outs of integrated communications. You will learn how media relations, social strategy, influencer & creators and brand integration work together to move the needle for our diverse roster of clients.
  • Media Research and List Management: Own the lists. You will build and maintain meticulous media databases, focusing on key DC trades, national outlets, and digital platforms to ensure our teams are always reaching the right audiences.
  • Cultural and News Intelligence: Act as the team’s radar. Monitor news cycles—from the hill to the headlines—to flag breaking news, competitor updates, and pop culture moments that offer opportunities for client engagement.
  • Office Operations Leadership: Maintain the daily efficiency of our DC office. You will manage office equipment, coordinate schedules, and ensure the workspace remains a professional, high-standard environment for employees and guests.
  • Account Stewardship: Support the health of various accounts by managing the administrative essentials: developing agendas, meeting recaps, activity reports, and budget trackers.
  • Logistical Support: Provide critical support for client meetings and events. This includes scheduling, RSVP management, and occasionally providing on-site staffing for activations and press conferences.
  • Professional Ambassadorship: Greet visitors, answer calls, and manage guest logistics with a professional and inclusive demeanor. You are a clear, courteous communicator who represents the agency to everyone who walks through our doors.
  • Relationship Driven: You understand that we are a people business. You lead by example in how you treat your co-workers, partners, and visitors—prioritizing trust, integrity, and discretion in every interaction.
Who You Are
  • The Emerging Professional: You have roughly 1 year of experience in communications, politics, or PR. You are ready to exhibit the behaviors of a successful professional in a high-stakes environment.
  • High EQ: You demonstrate emotional maturity and high EQ. You can read the room, maintain a calm demeanor when things move fast, and communicate effectively with senior staff and high-profile guests.
  • A Strong Writer: You are fast, persuasive, and detail-oriented. You can translate complex notes into concise, client-ready recaps or creative pitches. (Note: We are a pro-Oxford Comma shop.)
  • Entrepreneurial and Curious: You have an innate curiosity and a proactive attitude. If you see a way to make an office process or a client strategy better, you have the confidence to suggest it.
  • Exceptionally Organized: You have an eagle eye for detail and can manage multiple administrative and PR tasks simultaneously without letting a single detail slip.
  • Driven to Over-Deliver: You take genuine pride in your work and are willing to work select evenings or weekends when our clients need us to go, go, go.
