Job summary

Ascension Health in Austin, TX is seeking a patient access professional in the Cardiology department at the DCMG facility. The role supports front desk activities, verifies demographics, and handles scheduling and documentation with accuracy.

The eligible candidate will greet patients, verify insurance authorizations, enter charges, collect co-pays, and provide general office support. This full-time position operates Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM, in person at our Austin location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or 1 year of related experience.
• Licensure/Certification: None required.
• Professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

• Greet patients and visitors, verify and update demographics.
• Obtain insurance authorizations/precertification; schedule appointments.
• Enter and submit charges for procedures; collect co-pays and reconcile daily reports.
• Provide general office and clerical support to the assigned area.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Greets patients and visitors, checks patients in and out, and obtains necessary documentation. Verifies and enters demographic information.

• Obtains and verifies insurance authorizations/precertification. Completes medical record release requests and schedules/confirms patient appointments.

• Enters, reviews and submits charges for patient procedures and services daily. Collects co-payments and reconciles all daily reports and deposits for accuracy.

• Provides general office and clerical support to assigned area.
