Job summary

Hutchinson Clinic in Kansas is seeking a dedicated registered nurse to provide professional nursing care under physician supervision. You will assist with assessment, planning, and execution of patient care in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities include administering medications, responding to patient needs, coordinating with physicians and nurses to devise care plans, and maintaining accurate medical records while upholding hygiene and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Performs general nursing care to patients and administers prescribed medications and treatments per orders.
• Answers incoming calls and patient needs; interprets symptoms and communicates them to the physician; assesses patient needs for best care.
• Collaborates with physicians and nurses to develop individual care plans.
• Performs routine procedures (blood pressure, injections) and documents findings in the medical record.
• Inspects facility/equipment and maintains hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces).
• Maintains personal contact with patients and families, being courteous, respectful and ensuring a friendly environment.
• Stores and checks medications per standards and guidelines.
• Shows responsibility and accountability for professional practice; participates in in-services and meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Role:

Responsible for providing professional nursing care to the patient under the direction of a physician or health care provider.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

• Performs general nursing care to patients. Adjusts and/or administers prescribed medication and treatment in accordance with nursing standards and physician/provider's orders.
• Responds to all incoming telephone calls and patient needs. Interpret patient's symptoms and communicates them to the physician. Assess the patient's needs to provide the best care and advice
• Collaborates with physicians and nurses to devise individual care plans for patients.
• Perform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, administering injections, ect) and documents findings in the patient's medical record.
• Inspect the facility and equipment and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, ect)
• Maintaining personal contact with patients and relatives, being sensitive to their needs for courtesy, dignity, and privacy and ensuring a friendly environment at all times.
• Storing and checking medication in accordance with established standards and guidelines.
• Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for professional practice and continued professional growth. Attends all in-services and meetings as appropriate.
• Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time
