Your resume and cover letter, tailored to exactly what they’re hiring for.
Efferent Media, Inc. is seeking a versatile professional to manage office operations in Lindenhurst, NY, while driving business development with medical practices nationwide.
You will handle vendor management, renewals, onboarding, and team administration, then initiate conversations with prospects and book qualified consultations. You won’t be closing sales yourself; you’ll ensure the right people are engaged and that conversations progress to a handoff.
Everyone is asking which jobs AI replaces.
We think that is the wrong question. The better question is which parts of a job AI can take — and who you want doing everything that is left.
We spent two years answering that here. The software took the filing, the chasing and the reporting. What it handed back was a job that is almost entirely judgment and people.
So we rebuilt the seat around that half. And now we are hiring for it.
About half your week is running our Lindenhurst office.
Vendors. Bills. Renewals. Onboarding. Team administration. Following up on things that should already be done. And the hundred little decisions that make a company quietly work.
You will know what is due Friday. You will know who has not called back. And if one of us — owners included — is holding something up, we expect you to say so.
The other half of your week is business development.
We work with medical practices around the country. You will reach out to practices that have never heard of us, start conversations and book qualified consultations.
You do not have to close the sale. Get the right person to the table and pass it off from there.
One warning: most people you contact will not answer. Then you follow up. If that sounds miserable, this probably is not your job. If turning a cold list into actual conversations sounds strangely satisfying, keep reading.
That does not mean experience does not matter. You have probably run something before — an office, department, practice, small business or some other place where people learned to come to you when something needed to get done.
And you possess something that has become surprisingly valuable:
Common sense.
You do not need to be an AI expert. We can teach software. What is much harder to teach is curiosity — and, sadly, for some people, common sense.
We want someone who will look at the tools we have built, get acclimated, use them every day and call us out when we missed the obvious. If something is unnecessarily complicated, tell us. If you see a better way, show us.
Your ideas will help mold both our products and how we use them every day. You are not being hired just to operate our systems. You will help us make them better.
This is a full-time position in our Lindenhurst, New York office. Once the office is running your way, some hybrid work-from-home days can open up.
The review goes on the calendar when you start. You do not have to chase us for it.
Neither is the ceiling.
We would rather you know all of this before you apply than find it out in week three.
We do not offer health insurance right now. That is the honest answer and it is a current one, not a permanent one. If you need coverage through an employer, this is not the right seat today, and neither of us should spend two interviews finding that out.
We care a lot more about what you can do, how you think and how you treat people than whether your résumé followed a perfectly straight line.
Career change? Fine. Weird background? Could be interesting. Took the scenic route getting here? So did some of us.
Efferent Media is an equal opportunity employer. We consider qualified applicants without regard to any characteristic protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
And if you need a reasonable accommodation during the application or interview process, tell us. We want to see what you can do — not how well you can work around an obstacle we could have removed.
