Will direct WIN Job Center activities associated with Wagner-Peyser, Workforce Innovation Opportunities Act (WIOA), reemployment assistance, local business relation efforts, and other activities associated with the MDES mission of "Helping Mississippians Get Jobs". Will supervise all federal and state programmatic activity and other programmatic activity in the local office. Will manage several direct reports. Will coach and train local office staff. Will monitor activity to ensure timely and professional delivery of services. Will monitor local goals and ensure all program/contract goals are met. Will develop, distribute, and enforce meaningful performance standards for all direct reports. Will build and maintain relations with local employers and other workforce stakeholders. Will make presentations to small and large groups of customers. The position will require some overnight travel and some non-traditional working hours. May supervise multiple offices. Must be available to work in a public center that provides in-person service to customers of various programs. Will perform other duties as assigned. All applicants must have a valid driver’s license and pass an extensive background check.
Good interpersonal/customer service skills, good verbal/written communication skills, time management, and organizational skills; must possess outstanding computer skills, including proficiency with internet-based applications and email.
Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of experience. Hiring Agency Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university and at least three (3) years of experience in a directly related field.
