About the Position

The Perinatal Support Programs Director (Classification: Public Health Program Specialist Supervisor, OCCU: 9598, MS-14) provides strategic, operational, and administrative oversight for a portfolio of regional maternal and infant health support initiatives, including Healthy Moms, Healthy Babies, Vitamin Angels, Maternal Chronic Disease Programming, Perinatal Social Services, and the BLOOM Network. ensuring effective planning, implementation, and evaluation of maternal and infant health activities. The position oversees the hiring and maintenance of all sub-program staff and contractors; manages work plans, budgets, contracts, and grant deliverables; and ensures compliance with applicable state and federal requirements. The Director oversees policy development, performance monitoring, and quality improvement efforts; coordinates data collection and reporting; and serves as a primary liaison with MSDH leadership, healthcare providers, community partners, and other stakeholders. The role also represents the program in meetings and briefings, supports cross-bureau collaboration, and ensures program activities remain aligned with maternal and infant health priorities and emerging public health needs.

What you'll need to be Successful

Knowledge, skills and ability to perform program leadership and administration, with oversight of regional and statewide programs.

Demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities to perform managing large, multi-level, multi-disciplinary teams (up to 50 personnel total) and multi-million-dollar budgets from federal and state funding sources.
