Early-stage venture capital firm is looking for an Office & Events Manager to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to be positioned at the heart of this dynamic ecosystem, interacting with portfolio companies, investors, and team members while managing daily office operations and executing. You’ll take ownership over office operations to ensure the workplace is running smoothly, partner with the ops team on various tasks and projects, and plan & execute events from small dinners to large community gatherings. Someone who thrives as a resourceful self-starter while taking ownership and executing independently, and demonstrates a passion for tech and VC! Previous experience in event planning with a hospitality mindset is a must. This is a fully onsite role based in San Francisco with flexibility required for events. 120-155K+ DOE + benefits!
Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the San Francisco office, ensuring a smooth and efficient work environment.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all office-related needs and requests.
- Coordinate with building management and external vendors, including IT, maintenance, cleaning, and catering services.
- Maintain a well-stocked and organized office, including snacks, supplies, and coffee.
- Greet guests and provide a warm, polished experience reflective of the firm’s culture.
- Support internal teams and founders using the office by ensuring they have the necessary tools and resources.
- Oversee meeting room logistics, A/V setups, seating arrangements, and communal space upkeep.
- Handle incoming mail, packages, and lunch deliveries.
- Respond to facilities-related issues such as lost keys or connectivity disruptions.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including equipment coordination.
- Partner with operations and finance teams to support administrative functions and day-to-day tasks.
- Plan and execute internal and external events ranging from small gatherings to large-scale community activations.
- Manage all event logistics, including communications, vendor coordination, invites, venues, and follow-ups.
- Support scheduling, planning, and hosting for visiting founders, LP meetings, and offsite events.
- Contribute creative ideas and execute with attention to detail and polish.
- Manage team and portfolio swag design and inventory.
- Serve as a cultural and community ambassador, fostering a positive and collaborative environment.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in office management, administration, operations, events, or hospitality.
- Strong event planning and coordination skills.
- Creative thinker with a hospitality-first mindset.
- Comfortable wearing multiple hats and jumping into varied tasks as needed.
- Positive, can-do attitude with a passion for creating great experiences.
- Demonstrated interest in tech, startups, or venture capital is a plus.
- Excellent multitasking abilities and a calm approach in fast-paced settings.
- Proven ability to take initiative, solve problems, and manage responsibilities independently.
- Dependable and trusted to follow through and “just handle it.”
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, Zoom, and Notion (or similar tools).
- Team-oriented and humble, always ready to take on any task.
- Strong organization, flexibility, problem-solving, emotional intelligence, and communication skills.
