Job summary

The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising is seeking an Office Engineer / Resident Project Representative. This role involves collaborating with the design project manager and handling construction and project representation tasks.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Technology, at least 5 years of construction experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Primavera. Local candidates able to work within the 5 NY Boroughs are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years progressive construction experience on multidisciplinary projects.
• Fundamental understanding of contracts and familiarity with construction codes and laws.
• Must be computer literate.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Maintain accurate daily records of contractor's activities.
• Attend and/or chair construction progress meetings.

Skills

E.I.T. or Professional Engineer (PE) license desirable

Ability to interpret construction schedules

Ability to problem solve

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Technology
