Job summary

SRE Engineering, D.P.C. is seeking an office engineer for a DEP wastewater upgrade project in Bronx, NY. You will manage equipment installations, tracking, and documentation, acting as the central point for DEP turnover readiness.

Responsibilities include coordinating submittals and RFIs with Jacobs and DEP, maintaining FATs/SATs, and preparing for closeout with O&M manuals and asset registers. Strong organizational skills and experience with document control are essential.

Qualifications

  • Must have 3–5 years in construction administration (MEP, water/wastewater, or heavy civil preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage large document sets.
  • Experience with submittal and RFI processes and construction documentation.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, and document management systems (Procore, e-Builder, PDMS, Bluebeam).
  • Ability to read drawings and equipment schedules; understanding of closeout and commissioning requirements.

About the Project

SRE Engineering is looking for an office engineer for a multi-phase DEP project that includes sludge treatment, odor control, and energy efficiency improvements, running through closeout in September 2028 in Bronx, NY.

Position Overview

We're looking for a detail-oriented construction professional to manage equipment tracking, documentation, and closeout coordination for this major wastewater facility upgrade. You'll be the central point for ensuring all equipment installations are properly documented, tracked, and prepared for DEP turnover.

What You’ll Do
Equipment Tracking & Documentation (50%)
  • Track all major equipment installations: pumps, motors, blowers, instrumentation, electrical gear, SCADA systems
  • Maintain equipment schedules with manufacturer info, model/serial numbers, installation dates
  • Coordinate equipment deliveries and verify against approved submittals
  • Track equipment tagging per DEP asset numbering standards
  • Document factory acceptance tests (FATs) and site acceptance tests (SATs)
  • Maintain equipment cut sheets, O&M manuals, warranties, and test reports
Submittal & RFI Coordination (30%)
  • Track equipment submittals through the approval process with Jacobs and DEP
  • Coordinate RFIs related to equipment conflicts, installation issues, or missing information
  • Maintain submittal logs and distribute approved documents to field teams
  • Support equipment-related change order documentation
Closeout Documentation (20%)
  • Organize all equipment documentation for DEP turnover requirements
  • Compile O&M manuals, spare parts lists, and warranty informationSupport as-built coordination by verifying equipment data matches installed conditions
  • Prepare equipment asset registers for DEP’s facility management system
  • Coordinate with BIM team to ensure equipment information in models is accurate
  • Support final punch list tracking for equipment commissioning
What We’re Looking For
Required
  • 3-5 years construction administration experience (MEP, water/wastewater, or heavy civil preferred)
