Job summary

Artheon is seeking a skilled Office Engineer to join our team in New York, NY, supporting the Resident Engineer and construction supervision on civil/environmental projects. The role focuses on daily project administration, documentation, and collaboration across stakeholders.

Ideal candidates will have 2–5 years of relevant office engineering experience, a civil/construction background, and proficiency with MS Office and construction-document standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Management, or a related engineering/construction discipline required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience in office engineering, construction engineering, construction management, field engineering, or construction inspection.
  • Experience supporting projects for NYSDOT, NYCDOT, and/or NYC DDC strongly preferred.
  • Experience with transportation, roadway, infrastructure, or other public-sector construction projects preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Experience working with RFIs, submittals, project reports, correspondence, and construction records.
  • Familiarity with public-agency construction documentation, reporting, and contract administration requirements.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook; experience with Bluebeam, Primavera P6, Procore, or similar construction management tools preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to work on-site at project locations throughout New York City.

  • Maintain project records, correspondence, reports, logs, and other construction documentation in accordance with applicable agency and contract requirements
  • Assist with the review, tracking, and processing of RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and contractor documentation
  • Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly project reports and records
  • Coordinate and maintain documentation required by state and municipal transportation and infrastructure agencies
  • Track project correspondence, action items, submissions, approvals, and outstanding documentation
  • Support tracking of construction progress, quantities, schedules, and project milestones
  • Coordinate with Resident Engineers, inspectors, contractors, consultants, client representatives, and other project stakeholders
  • Assist with meeting preparation, meeting minutes, project correspondence, and follow-up items
  • Support change orders, payment documentation, project closeout, and other contract administration activities
  • Perform additional Office Engineer duties as needed to support the Resident Engineer and project team
