Position Overview

Serves as an Office Coordinator for the Division of Forensic Services, Forensic Sciences Command (FSC); develops and maintains databases to track various FSC activities (e.g., media requests, expungements, etc.); reviews travel requests and maintains travel database; assists the Command’s Administrative Assistant with the daily administration of outsourcing Forensic Biology/DNA cases; assists with the daily administration of CheckPoint; assists with the hiring and interview process; coordinates response to annual reports; compiles responses to organizational dues reimbursement list; documents receipt and distribution of court cards; coordinates print requests for all laboratories statewide; responds to inquiries through written or oral communications, applying general knowledge to agency operations, rules, and regulations; receives and screens incoming telephone calls: delivers incoming mail and prepares outgoing mail; distributes the necessary copies of reports, forms, and correspondence; maintains office equipment and commodities; coordinates and tracks usage, maintenance, transport, and required paperwork; communicates automotive updates to Command personnel; monitors condition and usage of FSC vehicles and makes recommendations for replacement and/or reassignment of vehicles.

Essential Functions

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires ability to keyboard accurately at 30 wpm.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefers at least two (2) years of experience in office practices, procedures, and programs including but not limited to responding to public inquiries and/or working with vendors
  • Prefers at least two (2) years of experience using Microsoft Office suite programs or similar software for activities including but not limited to tracking and maintaining data; inventorying equipment and commodities; updating manuals and policies; and/or developing graphs.
  • Prefers at least two (2) years of experience in composing, editing, compiling, and/or preparing administrative reports and records.
  • Prefers at least two (2) years of experience in operating commonly used manual and automated office equipment and performing routine maintenance.
  • Prefers at least two years of experience in elementary budgeting and reconciling accounts.
