A leading university seeks an Office Coordinator II to support senior directors in Foundation Relations and Corporate Relations. The role requires excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Position SummaryThe Opportunity:
The Office Coordinator II will be the primary support for the Senior Director of Foundation Relations and the Senior Director of Corporate Relations and provide support to the central Corporate and Foundation Relations teams. The Office of Foundation Relations and Office of Corporate Relations are responsible for providing leadership and support to MSU’s 29 colleges and units, as they seek to engage and develop strategic funding opportunities and partnerships for the university.
To effectively support the teams, this role requires an organized, experienced, flexible, and enthusiastic professional who possesses a consistent level of excellent communication and customer service skills. The successful candidate will enjoy a fast-paced environment, be adept at preparing reports, work with a high degree of accuracy, as well as work well under pressure, anticipate needs, and independently prioritize tasks that require immediate attention.

Reports directly to the Senior Director of Foundation Relations
Prospective candidates will have excellent written and communication skills, with the ability to produce business correspondence; solicitation materials; appropriate letters of acknowledgement; proposals to individuals, corporations and foundations; and reports. They will have a demonstrated ability to establish and manage multiple business relationships with complex, multifaceted organizations successfully and simultaneously. Individuals sought for this role will have in-depth knowledge of the breadth of corporate interactions with higher education and with foundation practices. They will also have the ability to understand quickly and translate clearly and succinctly faculty research and its value to potential funders.
Minimum RequirementsKnowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired in the first two or three years in college, technical school or related field; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in a professional office setting, performing secretarial and administrative tasks, including experience with scheduling meetings, data entry, payroll processing, office machines, email and internet usage or in performing tasks related to the area of employment; experience in word processing, spreadsheet, mail merge, database, calendaring, publishing, and/or presentation software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired QualificationsThe optimal candidate will exhibit many of the following skills and abilities: a Bachelor's degree; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines; advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience working in large databases and developing reports; excellent skills in grammar, writing, and editing; ability to proofread contracts and documents to include understanding basic mathematics; strong organizational skills; demonstrated experience to successfully work independently, as a team, and effectively prioritize workload; desire to understand principles of fundraising and the role of development in a university environment. Proficiency and comfortable with MS Office products, CARL reporting tool, and EBS Systems at MSU; experience in a professional fundraising environment; ability to solve problems and use initiative; demonstrated experience in analyzing, editing, and proofreading complex financial contracts and documents; experience in planning and executing high level events and functions; focused and task oriented; dependable and enjoys collaborating with others and being part of a team environment; outstanding customer service skills; ability to maintain highest level of confidentiality and sensitivity to personnel issues; ability to work effectively under pressure.
