Position Overview

The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery is seeking to hire an Office Coordinator for the Madden Mental Health Center located in Hines, Illinois to serve as secretary to the Director of Nursing (DON) and Associate Director of Nursing (ADON). Performs a variety of technical office support functions and a variety of complex and specialized clerical, secretarial and office support functions including keyboarding, word processing, data collection, filing, informational reporting and departmental meeting minutes. Serves as primary timekeeper. Monitors a variety of daily operations for a living unit.

Essential Functions
  • Serves as secretary to the Director of Nursing (DON) and Associate Director of Nursing (ADON).
  • Gathers information for report preparation.
  • Organizes and maintains filing systems.
  • Coordinates office activities establishing workload priorities.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to two (2) years of secretarial/business college or completion of high school and two (2) years of related office experience or two (2) years of independent business experience.
  • Requires the ability to keyboard accurately at 30 wpm.
Conditions of Employment
  • Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers.
  • Requires the ability to transport light to moderate loads of boxes and supplies.
  • Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
