Job description

Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and energetic individual to serve as Children's Accounts Unit Clerical Support. Under general supervision, this position will perform a variety of complex, specialized clerical support services requiring familiarity with computer equipment and software utilized by the unit to determine case location and status. The position will maintain the Children's Accounts Unit filing system and retrieve and analyze various computer screens to ascertain the active or inactive status of files. This position will also receive, sort, open, and distribute incoming mail and provide phone coverage. This role offers a great opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented and interested in supporting the Department's operations. Essential Functions
  1. Serves as Children's Accounts Unit Clerical Support.
  2. Prepares file inserts, file folder labels, and records retention documents daily.
  3. Updates the Children's Accounts Unit database weekly regarding new files for pending applications.
  4. Determines which files to archive quarterly, based on records retention schedules and case inactivation dates.
  5. Performs other duties as required or assigned within scope.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. At least 1 year of related office experience.

Work Details

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
