Responsibilities:
  • Make and schedule patient appointments efficiently and timely.
  • Assist clients in person and on the phone, providing information and communicating with departments.
  • Obtain and enter complete demographic and insurance information.
  • Verify information in medical records and scheduling systems, prepare patient charts.
  • Complete paperwork, generate billing information, and maintain a clean waiting area.
  • Greet and register patients, answer questions, and provide instructions.
  • Assist with inpatient billing, transcription, dictation, and medical records release.
  • Manage office supplies and maintain physician schedules.
  • Schedule diagnostic tests, obtain authorizations, and coordinate appointments.
  • Use automated systems for scheduling, billing, and reconciliation.
  • Travel between UPMC campuses as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Three years of relevant work experience, preferably in a medical office.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Proficiency in word processing and computer use.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting (renewal required).
  • Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 FBI Clearance (renewals required).

Position is full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 5:30 pm, with no weekends or holidays.
