The South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services is seeking a program assistant to support Probation and Parole Law Enforcement Officers. The role focuses on monitoring compliance and handling non-sworn duties using case-management technology to manage caseloads.

The candidate will perform required progress reports, conduct community contacts, review offender financial obligations, and carry out cashier duties when the Field Office Specialist is unavailable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with relevant program experience.
• A Bachelor’s Degree may be submitted for the required program experience.
• Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree with 2–3 years of criminal justice work experience, or high school diploma with 3–5 years of related program experience.

Responsible for assisting Probation and Parole Law Enforcement Officers to include non-sworn duties by monitoring compliance or using technology in the management of the caseload. Performs compliance monitoring on Standard level offenders to include conducting required non-field related progress reports and community contacts; reviews offender financial obligations and other special conditions of supervision. Performs other related duties as required to include cashier duties in the absence of the Field Office Specialist.

A high school diploma and relevant program experience. A bachelor’s degree may be submitted for the required program experience.

A Bachelor’s Degree or an Associate’s Degree and 2-3 years of work experience directly related to criminal justice (i.e. probation & parole, law enforcement, corrections) or armed services; or a high school diploma and 3-5 years of the aforementioned relevant program experience.

Please note: This is an entirely on-site, in-office position.
