Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms seeks a hands-on operator to oversee offal screening, DAF, sludge dewatering, and chemical mixing/injection systems. You will ensure PPE use and adhere to company policies and animal welfare guidelines while performing daily equipment monitoring and coordination with drivers.

The role requires flexible hours, frequent lifting, and the ability to work in challenging environments. Prior poultry processing exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours.
• Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character.
• Experience with pumps, valves, and irrigation systems.
• Must be able to drive a tractor or learn (GA driver license required)
• Strong mechanical knowledge and experience.
• Must be able to drive jockey truck to move offal trailers and tankers.
• Must have the ability to work alone, use good judgment and make decisions.
• Relative poultry industry experience.
• Basic math functions and skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and operates offal equipment and machinery such as tumble screens, augers, pumps, motors, dewatering equipment, compressors, chemical feed equipment.
• Observes the fill level on trailers and tankers
• Drives jockey truck to move full and empty trailers and tankers
• Monitors mechanical waste water equipment such as meters, pumps, motors, electrical, pivots.
• Measures and monitors waste water chemicals such as santiquan, polymer, and caustics.
• Washing soaps, etc.
• Performs cleanup and housekeeping tasks for assigned work area, tools, equipment, facilities, and grounds.
• Works with third party drivers to coordinate the pick-up and delivery times of loaded and empty trailers and tankers
• Bail and compact cardboard as requested
• Performs other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the Safety & Environmental Manager
