Job summary

Rural Communities Housing Development Corporation in Ukiah, CA is seeking an Off Site Maintenance Technician to maintain buildings and grounds, follow a preventative maintenance schedule, and coordinate repairs to ensure a healthy and safe environment. You will prepare units for occupancy, manage supplies, and keep detailed maintenance records.

The role requires the ability to work independently, perform physical tasks, and maintain property per health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work without supervision.
• Experience in routine repair and maintenance of buildings, landscaping and appliances.
• Must be well organized and able to accurately record information.
• Must be physically able to perform maintenance tasks.
• Must understand repair and maintenance instructions.
• Building trades experience helpful.
• Ability to organize, work and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Possession of a valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily, weekly and quarterly inspections and replacements.
• Record tasks on maintenance schedule and report to Project Manager monthly.
• Order maintenance supplies.
• Prepare units for occupancy (clean, disinfect, paint, patch); replace windows/doors/locks/lights.
• Keep walkways and parking areas free of debris.
• Oversee lawns, gardens and sprinkler systems.
• Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Report health and safety hazards to authorities and managers.
• Execute rehabilitation plans.
• Maintain property per health and safety standards.
• Maintain work order log and repair/reports filing system.
• Solicit bids for necessary work.
• Other duties as assigned.

About the role

• RCHDC is looking for an Off Site Maintenance Technician who must keep and maintain buildings, and grounds in good conditions at all times. Insure the buildings and grounds are kept in such manner as to create a healthy and safe physical environment, maximize the useful life of all property. Adhere to the preventative maintenance schedule, respond to immediate needs and arrange for skilled repair work as required. Maintain projects per management plan.

What you'll do

• To perform the daily, weekly and quarterly routine inspections and replacements in accordance with the established maintenance schedule.
• To record accurately all such required tasks on the maintenance schedule and provide such maintenance schedule to the Project Manager on a monthly basis.
