Job Posting: Off-Shift Tool and Die Repair in Muskegon, MI

Essential Functions:
  • Maintains stamping dies.
  • Sets up and operates conventional or CNC machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to shape parts to specifications.
  • Verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts using measuring instruments.
  • Inspects finished dies for quality and defects.
  • Conducts test runs to ensure parts meet specifications, making adjustments as needed.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, or instructions to produce or fit parts.
  • Maintains accurate tooling records and documentation.
  • Works independently with attention to detail; willing to work overtime if necessary.
  • Works with metric measurements or makes conversions as needed.
  • Assists the Toolroom supervisor with additional projects.
  • Adheres to Scherdel’s quality, environmental, and customer requirements.
Position Requirements:
  • Journeyman Tool and Die certification or equivalent experience (required).
  • 1-5 years of tool room experience (preferred).
  • Manual Bridge Port and Surface grinding skills (preferred).
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, sketches, and instructions.
Benefits:
  • Health, Vision, and Dental insurance start after 30 days.
  • 80 hours of PPTO after 3 months, with rollover up to 240 hours.
  • 401(k) with 5% match, eligible after 6 months.
