Job summary

State of Missouri's OEWS team is seeking a detail-oriented data collector to gather occupational employment and wage information from Missouri employers via phone, email, and mailings. You will work with SOC/NAICS classifications and enter data into the collection system to ensure high data quality.

You will analyze returned reports for accuracy and develop knowledge of staffing patterns and industry coding.

Qualifications

  • Beneficial background in business, public administration or related area; military service beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Collect detailed occupational employment and wage information from Missouri employers via calls, emails, and mailings.
  • Analyze job classification information using SOC and NAICS as provided by the US Department of Labor.
  • Track and enter activity into the data collection software system.
  • Analyze returned employer reports for data quality, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Maintain knowledge of staffing patterns and industry classifications to properly code survey responses.
  • Use OEWS program tools including Word, Excel and other software.
  • Follow guidelines established by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics in the Cooperative Agreement with the State of Missouri.
  • Answer questions about the program and data usage and importance.
  • Research employers to gather contact information and industry details.
  • Perform other duties related to data collection and coding for OEWS.
  • Demonstrate regular and reliable attendance.
